From a simple repair to a complete stained color change...
We can make your furniture dreams a reality!
From loose legs, broken backs, failing veneer or a complete breakdown, our team can repair it all! We expertly piece together and rebuild broken and damaged items to their original intended condition. Everything is done by hand to ensure the correct fit before using wood glues and two-part epoxy adhesives to perform the repair. Repair charges start at $75 per piece and go up from there base on complexity of repair.
We can also shorten most chairs, stools, or tables to a height more suited to your use. The cost to shorten most of these items is $20 per cut which includes sanding the cut edges, coloring, and replacing any felt or plastic protecton tabs.
Typical turnaround time for furniture repairs is two (2) weeks depending on our current workload.
Have a tired, worn finish? Let us restore it to "like new" condition! All of our refinishing work is done by hand, the old fashioned way. We never "dip strip" any piece as this technique has been proven to loosen the glue joints of the piece to where it may fall apart in as little as six months. Therefore, each piece is carefully hand sanded and inspected under intense light to ensure quality before it is finished per the customer's traditional stain choice.
All General Finishes stain is water based in nature with no VOC's! All stained refinished items have 4 to 5 coats of a durable hand brushed General Finishes Arm-R-Seal polyurethane in a sheen appropriate to the piece to give the ultimate in protection and durability. We finish each piece with a final hand sanding and wax polish.
Refinishing of furniture pieces varies in price based on the size, complexity of detail trim, and any necessary repairs that are needed. For eample, the average restoration price for dining chairs ranges from $225 to $275 and dressers range from $600 to $900. Each piece is quoted prior to any work being performed.
** Please note, we unfortunately do not paint any furniture pieces **
Let's face it, applying the final finish to a furniture piece is a lot easier and much more fun than the preparation work! Let us do 85% of the hard labor and remove the old finish and prepare the piece for your custom finish job.
As with our full refinishing service, all preparation work is done by hand, the old fashioned way without using any chemical stripping agents. After the piece is sanded to a smooth surface, it is carefully hand sanded one final time with 180 grit sandpaper and inspected under intense light. This attention to detail ensures you recieve a furniture piece that is ready for you to appy the finish of your choice! For your convenience, we offer the full color line of General Finishes stains and top coats for sale in our retail shop area.
Preparation for "do it yourself" customer furniture varies in price based on the size, complexity of detail trim, and any needed repairs you have selected for us to perform.
Please note, if your furniture piece already has a painted finish, our finish removal technique is not designed to remove all the existing paint, but rather it provides an even, level surface for the next step of your repaint project. For your painting convenience, we offer the full color line of General Finishes Milk Paint for sale in our retail shop area. All General Finishes Milk Paint is a premium self-sealing interior/exterior mineral based paint with a low-luster sheen.
Please visit our furniture products for sale page to learn more about General Finishes and see color samples.

First, we need to clear up a misconception here, woodworms are not a specific species. In fact, they aren't worms at all but instead are the larva of wood boring beetles. The term "woodworm" encompasses the following:
Usually a woodworm infestation occurs in wood items with a moisture content greater than 18%. Think really damp wood and a high humidity environment. Adult beetles lay their eggs on the surface of the wood or just below it, then their larvae, hence the term "woodworm" damages the wood by burrowing through the material layers which is their food source. The larva tunnel and feed for a couple of years before pupating and boring back to the surface and emerging as mature adult beetles. So, if you see holes, this means that there has been an infestation of woodworms at some point... but it does not mean there necessarily still is an active woodworm infestation.
If you want to see if your woodworms are dormant or still active, you need to check if you can see any of the following symptoms:
If you notice any of the above symptoms, it's time to call a professional for help. Left untreated, the woodworms can exit one piece of furniture and infect another piece that is in close proximity or they can infect natural hardwood flooring. As a professional wood restorer, we will assess the infestation, report our findings directly to you, and then offer our suggestions on how to best treat the infestation. Treatment plans can be as simple as a boron chemical treatment or a full scale thermo heat treatment at our shop. Boron is an odorless, water-based substance that is brushed onto the furniture surface that will cause the woodworms to dry out and die from lack of moisture. A thermo treatment is when a piece of furniture is heated to an internal temperature high enough to dry out the moisture of the furniture and thus, dry out the woodworms causing them to die.
Pricing for pest remediation varies based on the type of infestation and the size of the furniture piece in question.
